Doves and Daisies

This piece of work is made up of squares cut from my own hand-dyed fabrics onto which I have stitched applique hearts cut from a variety of pretty print cottons, adding white cotton doves and daisies and a few antique mother-of-pearl buttons from my collection, to add a little texture and interest. Each of the tiny fabric squares is hand-stitched into place with twelve stitches, and the whole design is set within a running stitch grid worked in hand-dyed varigated threads.

The frame is lightly distressed whitened wood measuring 10"/26cms square, with a double depth mount onto which is written the title 'Doves and Daisies' and it is signed. The work will arrive glazed, corded, ready to hang, with my studio stamp on the back.
