How Many?

This piece is based on the traditional idea that counting sheep is a good way to get off to sleep! I have stitched the words by hand and then added lots of little applique sheep standing in a grassy field with flowers here and there too. I have used my own hand-dyed fabrics for the faces and legs of the sheep, so that each one has unique markings. The piece is intractely stitched and would make a lovely addition to a spare room, or in any bedroom, for a child or older person perhaps, who is having trouble sleeping.
 
The embroidery is in a 10" (26cm) square lightly distressed whitened wood frame and comes glazed, corded, ready to hang, with my studio stamp on the back. The mount is signed and carries the title 'How Many?'
