Snowdrops

This is a very intricately hand stitched piece of work featuring clusters of snowdrops in snow, with falling snow worked as tiny French Knots in fine white silk. The border is made from a variety of vintage fabrics, stitched into place with tiny stitches. I have chosen three very old mother-of-pearl buttons from my collection to add texture and lustre to the work. The double mount adds depth and interest to the piece, accommodating the buttons.
 
The textile is framed in a lightly distressed whitened wood frame measuring 8" (20cm) square and the embroidery will arrive with glass in place, corded, with my studio stamp on the back, ready to hang. The mount carries the title 'Snowdrops' and is signed.
